Wrap-up: Oct—26

Lint rules for Oxlint, a rules file for coding agents & docs pages that load about half the JavaScript.

Wrap-up: Oct—26

Every Yumma CSS release in October, newest first, & what changed on this site. This page grows as the month's releases land.

Upgrading from 3.x?

Run pnpm dlx yummacss migrate --dry-run, then the same command without the flag, then pnpm dlx yummacss lint for anything left over. Upgrading has the steps.

4.3

October 3

  • Lint rules for Oxlint: no-unknown-classes names the class you meant, no-inline-styles names the class for a property set in style.
  • yummacss lint lists every class Yumma CSS does not generate, with no linter to set up.
  • Breaking: the yummacss-lint command & validate() are removed. Use yummacss lint.
card.tsx:1:16: error yummacss(no-unknown-classes): `bg:redd-5` is not a Yumma CSS class, so it generates no CSS. Did you mean `bg:red-5`?

Yumma CSS 4.3 covers both, & @yummacss/lint has the options.

On the Site

  • agents.md is a rules file for a project's coding agents: the syntax, every value that exists, four components to learn from & the command that checks their work. Coding Agents shows how to add it.
  • llms.txt teaches the 4.x syntax, & no docs page shows a 3.x class.
  • Docs pages load about half the JavaScript they did: the browser support box renders on the server, so its data stays there.
PageJavaScript, gzipped
Home898KB to 491KB
A docs page854KB to 447KB
A component page857KB to 449KB
  • Search loads its index when you reach for it, not with every page.
  • Release posts play their video in place, & every cover is drawn from the post's own text.

Upgrading

From 4.2, update the packages & swap yummacss-lint for yummacss lint. From 3.x, let the codemod rewrite the classes, then check what is left.

pnpm dlx yummacss migrate --dry-run
pnpm dlx yummacss migrate
pnpm dlx yummacss lint

The full list is in the changelog. September's releases are in Wrap-up: Sep—26.
